A typical day for Claire starts off with her bodyguard, Eor, watching over her while she sleeps.

Then comes her morning workout session with her personal trainer. Here she is jogging in place.

After that she hangs out with Budinski and Whiskers while waiting to be served her next meal. She's getting a little impatient here. So impatient that she starts threatening me with gun signs.

Next comes a few hours of college studies.

Followed by hanging out with the cats some more. Here they are playing "sniff my finger and guess where it's been". Whiskers is up next.

After a hard day Claire likes to finish things up at the spa before retiring to bed for the evening.

Deck update: The posts and upper and lower railing base are now up. It's starting to look like a deck! Can you find Jen in this photo? Hint: she's poking her head out the window.
This past week I put exercise on the backburner and mainly worked on the deck during my free time. Now that I'm seeing progress I'm eager to get it finished. One of my goals for this year was to improve my handyman skills and I think I'm making good progress. I've spent a lot of time planning, measuring, cutting, drilling, screwing, and reading. Building a 40' X 12' deck that is elevated 8' off the ground will make you learn in a hurry. We plan on working on Watkins' deck after his Ironman in June/July and I think we will knock that out a lot faster after what we've learned from building my deck. Aside from the deck project I've also been doing some little things around the house. This week I re-caulked the bathroom.
On Sunday we started a new tradition called "family morning". It was Jen's idea to do something with the three of us (me, Jen, Claire) every Sunday morning to make it a fun ritual. This Sunday we took a run together while we pushed Claire in the baby jogger. We followed that up with breakfast at Brueggers and a walk back home. Hopefully it will be something that Claire looks forward to as she gets older.
The cats are finally warming up to Claire. They've slowly been inching closer and closer to her when she's around. I think they are bonding because they both like drinking milk. Unfortunately the cats don't realize that she will be able to pull their tails in the coming months.
This upcoming weekend we've got Dunner and Joe coming into town. Dunner will be staying with us and Joe will be staying with his old boss. We all plan on going to the NASCAR race on Saturday night so we've asked Laura if she'll babysit Claire. We've lived in Charlotte for ten years and haven't been to a race yet. On a sad note, Dave is heading to Indianapolis for the summer for his internship and is leaving on Saturday. He will be missed...especially for his porch sweeping capabilities.
